Oba Oyede-Lawal graces Occasion as University Don retires in Style
It was a scene to behold as the Oloola of Ilara-Yewa Ọba Mutiu Alani Adedimeji Oyede-Lawal joins the academic community to celebrate the retirement and birthday of Prof. JB Babalola of the University of Ibadan.
The celebration took place in Ibadan yesterday 19th of August 2024, with a warm reception of dignitaries, friends, families and the entire community of the University of Ibadan.
Among the dignitaries present was Ọba Oyede-Lawal marking his first grand outing in royal paraphernalia after his ascension to the Oloola throne.
Speaking to CMnews, Oloola described the don Prof. Babalola as one of the very few in the academia who stands for integrity, passion and commitment, and who has mentored and modelled generations of quality professionals in the University of Ibadan.
Oloola himself being a doctoral researcher at the university used the opportunity to encourage younger ones to deligence, noting that every good work we do builds up to the kind of society that we all dream of.
