Ọdun Ọba: Oloola Receives Dignitaries, Royal Fathers, Launches Dev. Foundation

The first ever occasion of Ọdun Ọba was celebrated in Ilara-Yewa where the Oloola of Ilara, Ọba Dr. Mutiu Alani Oyede-Lawal hosts a gathering of dignitaries and Royal Fathers across the length and breath of Yewa Land.

CM news reports earlier that the Ọdun Ọba which takes place in Ilara-Yewa on Saturday the 14th of June 2025 marks a new turn in the history of Ilara and Yewa showcasing the rich culture and traditions of the people.

Among the dignitaries present at the occasion were Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, Commissioner for Youth Development Ogun State, Oba Jacob Ademoyegun, Olikimu of Ilikimu; Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite, Onimeko of Imeko; Oba Lukman Kuoye PhD, Olu of Imasayi; Oba Dr B.B. Oyero Onijale of Ijale Ketu, Oba M.A.A Dosunmu Onigua of Igua; Oba R. L. Babade, Obaladi of Afon, Oba G.A Ogunji (RN) Onijoun of Ijoun; Oba Kayode Joseph Ogungbohun, Agbaigba Ijaka Oke; Oloja of Oja Odan; Alale of Moriwi; Olobada of Obada Owo; Alagbede of Oke Agbede; Olohunbe of Ohunbe and host of others

One of the major highlights of the event is the inauguration and launching of Oba Oyede-Lawal Charity Foundation with the objectives to contribute to the growth and development of both individuals and society at large by breaking barriers to education; and to contribute in a sustainable way by addressing social and environmental challenges.

The Foundation also seek to create self-help growth in human capital development by empowering individuals to pool their skills and knowledge for sustainable benefits; as well as contributing to sport development in Ilara and its environment.

Ọba Oyede-Lawal through this foundation seeks further his commitment to education in Yewa Land by providing scholarships and sponsorship to students and artisans within the locality, a project he has began long before enthronement, offering scholarships and cash awards to many students.
