Ilara-Yewa sits a new Police Division as Imeko-Afon becomes Area Command
by Dotun Oladipupo

The leadership of the Nigeria police force has approved the creation of a new Division Police Office in Ilara Yewa- the town bordering the neighbouring Benin Republic.
This is coming at the announcement that the Local Government of Imeko-Afon is to house a Police Area Command, to further tighten security situation in the area and ensure safety of lives and properties.
This step becomes imperative in the wake of incessant kidnappings and insecurity across the local government and to further enhance vigilance of the porous border routes.
In a release to CmNews, Prince Tosin Adeluyi the ex-chairman of the LGA among community heads and members of the LG security committee commends the development.
It was assured that efforts are in place for seamless implementation and operationalization of the new division and area command while calling on the officers of the force to ensure professionalism in the discharge of their duties..
